After leaving Brazil I was going to cross Venezuela and Colombia before leaving South America. I heard a lot of bad stories about travelling in Venezuela from other travelers but I found the country not to be all that much different from the rest of the region. One thing I knew was that I had“Km 25000: Leaving South America”

Amazing Adventure: Crossing the Darian Gap with a Motorbike
Crossing the Darian Gap was one of the most amazing adventures I have ever embarked on. Ever-since I decided that I want to ride my motorbike from Chile to Texas, I knew that the road does not go all the way and that I will have to figure out how to cross the jungle dividing“Amazing Adventure: Crossing the Darian Gap with a Motorbike”
Running up the Roraima Table Mountain in one day
Running up and down Venezuela’s Mount Roraima in one day seemed like a crazy idea but soon became my only option. Most people take almost a week to do the hike and everyone says you need a local guide to go up. I could not find reasonably priced tour or people willing to share the“Running up the Roraima Table Mountain in one day”
Crossing the Amazon with a Motorbike (from Belem to Manaus)
Crossing Amazon was not easy. In planning my route through South America I did not give it much thought. The roads seemed to be on both sides of the river, so for sure a ferry would cross in matter of minutes or at worst few hours. I was wrong. Km 20000: Crossing Brazil
Brazil is a huge country. It’s hard to understand how huge it is until you cross it on a small motorbike :). I found few resources but nothing overly complex,“Guide to Buying a new motorcycle (or a car) in Chile for foreigners”

From there I might go to Córdoba and later north towards Salta, cross the“Km 0: Taking off from Chile to Texas”
Just below the equator
Colombia and Ecuador do not feel like neighboring countries to me. The differences are too obvious. The good thing about Ecuador is that everything is cheaper. What is less likable is that there are significantly more tourist, streets and buildings are dirtier, electricity gets cut couple hours a day, people are not as beautiful and“Just below the equator”
